Splinted Wrist Support (Fusion Splinting™)
Splinting is the foam structure that runs from your knuckles, over the top of the back of your hand and over your wrist. This, combined with the exclusive dual closure system, prevents misalignment from awkward bends that can occur during a strike.
Dual Strap Closure System (Dual-X)
We developed and patented the most versatile closure system in the industry. Lace-up gloves are often recognized as the greatest fit a glove can offer, so we designed something that gives you that same fit but without the hassle. The fully adjustable Dual-X™ closure system uses two opposing interlocking straps that allow you to customize the fit to your specific needs. This creates hand and wrist stabilization for the best protection and injury prevention.
In a university research study, the efficacy of the design was tested to examine the degree to which wrist deflection can be prevented. A biofidelic wrist model was constructed to mimic the flexion/extension capability of the human wrist. With this testing apparatus, Hayabusa was able to develop a glove design that demonstrated 99.7% perfect anatomical alignment. This ensures the gloves help deliver the proper wrist position during punches.
Foam composition (CRUSH ZONE™)
Our proprietary foam composition was designed to protect and last. Each layer of foam serves a different purpose when absorbing and dissipating the impact force of a punch. We defined the optimal structure by testing dozens of foam properties, thicknesses, layerings, and more. Top universities produced scientific data on the various combinations, and we utilized this information to develop the ideal in terms of performance and protection.
Ergonomics
Tried and tested ergonomics. Hayabusa’s T3 natural thumb position, pocket-size, and overall design delivers the most comfortable, secure fit of any boxing glove. It was developed over several years of testing and feedback from professional fighters, trainers, and boxers around the world.
XT2 Silver Lining (XT2®)
We understand the need to protect your gloves from becoming unusable due to smell. That’s why we use XT2 fabric technology. It contains natural silver that helps combat odor to keep the gloves smelling better, for longer.
FAQ
I’m in between sizes, should I size up or down?
When you are in between two sizes, we always recommend sizing up.
How do I clean Inside my gloves?
Open your gloves fully after use to allow them to dry thoroughly.
To clean the interior, use a water-dampened washcloth to wipe away oils and dirt, which can accumulate during use. Ensure the gloves are left as wide open as possible afterward so they dry completely.
A few times a month, you may wish to use an isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) and water mixture which can be sprayed inside the glove. This mixture will kill any bacteria inside the glove. Warning: do not clean leather with rubbing alcohol.
How do I take care of my real leather gloves?
As with any of our previous series of premium leather gloves (LX/Kanpeki), we don’t recommend using any leather conditioners or oils on these gloves, as this can trap moisture in the leather, causing premature breakdown. The leather surface of the gloves is designed to develop a patina over time without the use of any cleansers; however, if you desire or if the need arises, the surface can be washed using a water-dampened washcloth. A mild saddle soap may be employed; however, we caution that this may alter the color of the leather.
We do not recommend using any bleach or other cleaners on either material, as this can cause damage and shorten the serviceable life of your gear.
Why aren’t my gloves identical?
The drum dyeing process of the T3 LX leather makes each glove unique. No two T3 LX series gloves are identical. Over time and with use, they will develop a patina that will give your gloves character that will be unique to you.
Is this a bag glove or a sparring glove?
This glove can be used for both sparring and bag work. We recommend using 16oz. gloves for sparring.
